A big welcome from the North Pole.
Come in out of the cold. This is where we show what we are making for families — and the care that goes into making it.
What we are making
A gentle way for families to share a wish.
Make-A-Wish will let a parent or guardian sit down with a child and send a little wish to the North Pole. Parents stay in charge from the first step to the last. We ask only for what we truly need — a nickname is enough — and we treat every wish with care.
How we work
We make a list. We check it twice.
Every workshop needs a way of working. Ours is simple enough to say in six short steps.
Listen
We start by listening carefully, so we understand what a family really needs.
Write it down
We write the wish down properly, so everyone in the workshop builds the same thing.
Build with care
The elves build it well the first time, using only materials we trust.
Check it twice
Nothing leaves the workshop until it has been tested — and checked twice.
Deliver
We deliver calmly and on time, with a way to make things right if anything is wrong.
Learn
After every delivery we ask ourselves what we could do better next year.
That is the whole secret. Behind each step sits a great deal of careful machinery — but you only need to see it if you want to.
Curious how the sleigh is really built? The elves and engineers keep the detailed plans — blueprints, working labs and records — in the Workshop.
